Job Description:

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Shipper & Receiver is responsible for all functions and paperwork related to all incoming material to Sicom Industries. They are responsible for ensuring that goods received match the purchase order. They are also responsible for the packaging and crating/palletizing of manufactured goods to be delivered to customers and/or subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Loads/unloads shipments.
• Manages the placement of inventory in the shop and yard.
• Records and reviews of quality and quantity of goods received for conformity to Sicom Industries purchase orders.
• Provides all received documentation including waybills and certificates to the AP/QC Dept.
• Physically verifies the material received against the paperwork and purchase order and reports any discrepancies to the Purchasing Manager /QC Dept.
• Files the accompanying shipment paperwork in an organized manner. 
• Schedules daily pickups with various freight providers.
• Packs, seals, and labels materials to prepare for shipping. 
• Prepare documents such as packing list and shipping orders. 
• Any other duties as required. 

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in logistics and warehousing.
• 2+ years of experience operating a forklift.
• Experience in woodworking to build creates and use of various saws.

• Competent in learning and using software applications to support shipping and receiving duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manual machining (lathe, mill, radial arm drill) with DRO.
• Repair and re-machining of hydraulic components.
• Assembly of hydraulic cylinders and power units.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables.
• Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance.
• Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances.
• Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.

• Measure and layout workpieces.

Qualifications:

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Mechanical Engineer provides support to the Project Manager, Engineering for machine design and hydraulic design. The Mechanical Engineer will support project management to ensure deliverables are met by the required customer deadlines. Depending on candidate experience, the successful incumbent may be responsible for managing mechanical engineer projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support Project Manager with preparing preliminary drawings and specifications, for submission to customers.
• Perform engineering calculations and prepare AutoCad / Solidworks drawings of items such as hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic power units.
• Prepare documents, reports, and manuals.
• Prepare bills of material and carry out purchasing.
• Assist with the shop assembly and testing of equipment being manufactured.
• Completes incoming inspections / quality assurance of parts as required.
• Assist with the planning of field installations.
• This position may require out-of-town travel providing engineering assistance to the field crew.
• Any other tasks as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience managing engineering projects / client requests is considered an asset.
• Mechanical Engineering Technologist diploma or Mechanical Engineering Degree.
• Eligible for registration with a professional association (EGBC or ASTTBC) is considered an asset.
