Our business expansion has increased the volume in our rebuild department, and we are looking for a detailed and hardworking individual to assist with shop support, focusing on component cleaning after gearbox teardown, handling, and shipping. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Shipping and receiving, including operating a forklift and overhead cranes.
• Local pick ups and deliveries. 
• Cleaning and maintaining parts to ensure their optimal cleanliness.
• Keeping the shop area clean and organized.
• Shop floor coordination, to keep materials and equipment where they are needed.
• Clean machinery and vehicles. 
• Cut, prepare, and deburr material (using bandsaw and zipcut).
• Painting of components. 
• Assist shop staff and skilled tradespeople as required.
• Packaging and crating equipment and components safely.

Qualifications:

• Class 5 driver’s license is required.
• Experience operating a forklift and overhead crane is considered an asset. 
• Experience with basic hand and power tools is required. 
• Mechanical aptitude is considered an asset. Candidates with mechanical hobbies or work experience will be given preference.

Job Description:

Reporting to the Lathe & Manual Department Manager, the Machinist Apprentice will be responsible for setting up and operating a range of new CNC or manual machines including lathes (VTL's) and/or milling centers. Successful applicants will be immediately working on CNC/manual machines.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Machinist manufactures various parts for Janox, a leader in the fluid power industry specializing in design, manufacturing, and installation of large hydraulic systems, large hydraulic cylinders, and the repair and testing of a wide variety of hydraulic components.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manual machining (lathe, mill, radial arm drill) with DRO.
• Repair and re-machining of hydraulic components.
• Assembly of hydraulic cylinders and power units.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables.
• Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance.
• Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances.
• Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.
• Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g. micrometers and calipers).
• Measure and layout workpieces.
• Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.

Qualifications:

• Journeyperson Machinist trade certification and red seal certification is considered an asset.
• Outstanding apprentice candidates may be considered.
• Experience with large manual lathes, vertical milling machines, radial arm drills, and a variety of other hand and power tools.

Job Description:

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Shipper & Receiver is responsible for all functions and paperwork related to all incoming material to Sicom Industries. They are responsible for ensuring that goods received match the purchase order. They are also responsible for the packaging and crating/palletizing of manufactured goods to be delivered to customers and/or subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Loads/unloads shipments.
• Manages the placement of inventory in the shop and yard.
• Records and reviews of quality and quantity of goods received for conformity to Sicom Industries purchase orders.
• Provides all received documentation including waybills and certificates to the AP/QC Dept.
• Physically verifies the material received against the paperwork and purchase order and reports any discrepancies to the Purchasing Manager /QC Dept.
• Files the accompanying shipment paperwork in an organized manner. 
• Schedules daily pickups with various freight providers.
• Packs, seals, and labels materials to prepare for shipping. 
• Prepare documents such as packing list and shipping orders. 
• Any other duties as required. 

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in logistics and warehousing.
• 2+ years of experience operating a forklift.
• Experience in woodworking to build creates and use of various saws.
